The Birds

Late morning we were invited to coffee with friends Nigel and Deborah who live in our village, and a couple of hours quickly passed as we chatted.

Back home, it's almost a daily job of refilling the bird feeders and now we are regularly visited by pheasants in the meadow field who are after scraps we put out. Like the woodpecker, they're very skittish and quickly move away but I was armed with my camera and quickly got some photo's of these gorgeously coloured wild birds.

The oldest son arrived before the 3pm kick-off of Middlesborough v Cardiff city FC match which we did very well to draw as 'Boro were fifth in the league. Teams around us did well so we are still in the 'drop' zone!

We will pop out for a couple of hours tonight, hopefully with our friends and neighbours, for a meal and a drink. We've had no snow in this area but the forecast was from 6pm tonight!
