Visitors to the Lord's Nativity.

The Feast Day of Saint Elizabeth Seton. Born 28th August 1774. St Elizabeth Seton was the first American ever to be canonised. Most of her family were devout Protestants while she converted to Catholicism. She was married at twenty years old, and mother to five children. She helped poor widows with small children. She started the Catholic system of parochial schools in America. In 1809 St. Elizabeth Seton, founded, with the help of four friends, a new religious community, the Sisters of Saint Joseph. She took her vows as a nun in 1813.

I have enjoyed today mostly indoors. It has been a peaceful quiet Saturday.

The weather has been earmarked by low temperatures of 1c. The heating is working efficiently and a small glass of Ginger Wine with my evening meal has been a good blessing.

I have been getting our indoor tasks done, reading and watching The Railway Children Return. Father Brown is on at 7pm and I hope to watch that.

The snow is forecast for our town from 9pm but we have all needed, thanks to Paul doing our shopping this afternoon. Both cats are happily indoors.
