Quiet reflection

During lunch with some friends in our favourite Italian restaurant we reminisced about our lives. We reached the conclusion that compared with young people today with all its challenges and insecurities  we had the best of times.
 
And I thought of the French writer Colette’s words: “I’ve had a wonderful life. I only wish I had realised it sooner.”
