Nine
Despite my new year's resolutions for highly programmed exercise, meditation, yoga, photography reading, photography editing reading, photography scanning reading, photography organisation ... I freewheeled it just to see how my old Kodak Pocket Instamatic 110 photos would scan.
Tomorrow - will do better...
Obviously, if this was contemporary, I could tag it #ShittyCameraPhotography. This image is by no means the best (or worst) but it is the third image, and does represent the select gathering who attended my ninth birthday, mid-March 1975, soon after I got my pocket Instamatic. It appears to include my best ever bestie and my favourite cousin, in dresses that today seem incredibly unlikely. My son asked me if one of the girls had rats on her dress; I responded that it was probably paisley (thinking, to see my best friend and her sister in those dresses, was somewhat mind-boggling, I thought they were so adventurous and alternative).
In Extras, my first ever photo, including the shadow of my father instructing me, and a wonderful family photo with my father (usually absent as the photographer at it's centre).
