Close enough

A day spent doing the Xmas decoration thing in reverse, you know, packing them all up.
I'm still in supervisory mode thankfully so the boss and the lad set to getting it done.
Like every other year, detailed plans were discussed that we must do it according to a plan next year. (I live in hope)

Close enough to 12th Night. I always thought that 12th Night fell on January 6th, (which is an important date for other less celebratory reasons),
A quick Google gave me this.
.The Epiphany falls on 6th January, which means the decorations should, in theory, be tidied away on the 5th. This is the most popular date! However, not everyone follows this tradition. Many countries, including Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic believe the Twelfth Night to be the 6th.

Given that we took the decorations down on the 4th, we have all our bases covered. Other neighbours had theirs down on the 26th December and will put them back up again on August 30th. I have no clue as to which calendar they follow.
Oh wait,  yes, I do, it's the one the retailers follow in order to extract maximum retail dollar calendar.

Bah humbug

Ah well...
