The snow hadn’t started at 11pm yesterday. I wasn’t optimistic of a good covering that would make a walk enjoyable and it was forecast to turn to sleet and rain by midday.

After putting bird food out I went into the garden with my phone to see if there was anything that would make an interesting blip. Not impressed with my efforts but what you see is my footsteps on the lawn as I cut back from the feeder pole and on the other side of the path the remains of last years hosta.

The snow soon started sliding off the bonnets of cars and that on the road was turning to slush. I decided to stick to my plan . . . washer on then Christmas tree down and all other signs of Christmas packed away and put upstairs.

A sofa afternoon. . . think I had a sleep too
