The snow hadn’t started at 11pm yesterday. I wasn’t optimistic of a good covering that would make a walk enjoyable and it was forecast to turn to sleet and rain by midday.

After putting bird food out I went into the garden with my phone to see if there was anything to blip. My footprints and last years hosta was the best I managed.

The snow soon started sliding off the bonnets of cars and that on the road was turning to slush. I decided to stick to my plan . . . washer on then Christmas tree down and all other signs of Christmas packed away and put upstairs.

A sofa afternoon. . . think I had a sleep too
