Winter Wonderland

The promised snow arrived - it measured in at 18cm deep (7 in). It's now dark and no-one in our road has tried to drive anywhere today! The kids next door went out sledging. Never saw them, but they left tracks. We went for a wander around midday (not to the sledging hill though). It was hard work getting up the slope to the main road, but the pavements were more compacted and made life a lot easier. We found a family sledging down one of the steep side roads as no cars were daring to try it - several had parked up the top overnight instead. The main road was pretty quiet - more traffic going towards the city than away from it, and a couple of cars sliding a bit, but no bumps.

Had several minor avalanches off the roof during the day - the solar panels make it slippier so the snow slides off rather than just melting into the gutter.

We've had a constructive weekend pottering around. Still need to take the tree down and see what the 3D printer has churned out...
