Life in Sunny Dubai

We traded a trip to the UAE Flower Farm (near the East Coast) for a garden centre much closer. I had promised G a journey to the Acacia Garden Centre ages ago when we first spotted it. It looked grand, and everything you would expect a garden centre to be - by people of a certain part of the world!! Today we finally experienced it. It is huge, and well laid out, and has just about every type of plant (so says C) and plant pot that you can imagine. Being a Sunday morning, it wasn't heaving. I wonder if it ever really is, as people would automatically assume that the plants/pots are more expensive here. They possibly are. I didn't look too much at the prices. I was too busy taking pictures on my phone. The ones here are all taken on a proper camera though.

We moved on to Wafi, for lunch at Biella, courtesy of C. Their Christmas tree is still up and we were encouraged to roam around and take pictures of the display, so we did. All the photos in my second extra are taken by G.

Back home for the rest of the evening. I am even up to date with the ironing. Woo hoo! I switched over to the Japanese news channel NHK World and can't believe they are showing something called the ABU TV Song Festival. I'd never heard of it before but it's been going for twelve years. It looks like the Asian version of Eurovision without the madness of the costumes, and so far, all the contestants have sung in their native language.
