Twelfth night

I see faces and bodies emerging from our fireplace tonight!!  We lit the fire, warmed some wine and dismantled the tree and all the decorations through the house. We thanked the tree and gently packed everything away for another year.  It was good to get the hoover into the living room and clear the needles that were falling and to reclaim the space.. everything looks rather empty now.. so I will put a different set of twinkly lights up somewhere to bring some twinkle back to the dark afternoon evenings. 
Jasper has been our tree guardian (and has drunk a lot of the water from the bowl under the tree) and again she didn't once try to clamber into it.. phew!
The snow has pretty much all gone now.. but people in the village managed to pack in a quick sledge trip this morning.. not me this time.
