Free Bird . . . Lynyrd Skynryd

This afternoon TLD and I went to the movies to see Better Man the all singing all dancing movie about Robbie Williams. We both enjoyed it. I found it rather moving in places. Afterwards we had to Google and found TLD was five when he was making it big in Take That and of course I was a busy mother. That explained why we didn't know the music of that period.
Coming back to the car I took another blip of the new mural because I found more info about it. The blue and yellow background shows a mix of river and estuarine waters and the yellow of Nelson's bright sun. The tukutuku pattern recognizes the local iwi/ tribes of our region. I think the diamond shaped tukutuku pattern is based on the traditional Patiki /flounder fish design.  There are flounder in the estuary.   If you look closely there is a seagull in the top right corner.
