A new kitty

Today we got a new young cat from the Cat Protection Society. Margot was on the selection committee (see extra) along with me and M. The cat is just over four months old and is very well socialised. She settled in immediately but is frustrated that we're not letting her outside. My main photo shows her doing some tablecloth management.

She has beautiful markings as shown in my second extra. She's a tabby whose stripes are very wide and I believe she's a Sokoke, a breed developed and standardised in the 1970s from a variety of feral cats in Kenya.

The animal shelter called her Milo but I think that's a boys name and we wanted something with 's' in it (cats like sibilants) and something African. After some research we've decided on Sika.

What a wonderful new thing to post for mono Monday. Thanks for hosting Laurie.
