Not going out day 2
Still lots of snow around and the side roads and estates remain treacherous. Chris did take the car out on an errand for son Alex. He took the main road to Keighley rather than going over the top but it was flooded near Bingley Grammar School. He made it and came back the other way but couldn’t get back up our drive without doing more digging out.
Our return to Community Choir was cancelled as is our church choir practice this evening, both first time back since before Christmas so I’ve finished taking down the Christmas tree - all tidy now- then did the ironing.
I looked to the garden for my blip. Some Hellebores are poking through the snow and there were some interesting footprints but as Chris has refilled the bird feeders I was trying to get a bird blip through the windows. Lots of Goldfinches in the back garden proved elusive and several pigeons and Blackbirds but I spotted this Robin in the front garden. He’d been on the feeder but they are more inclined to hop about underneath, as seen here no doubt looking for something that has been dropped by others. Not the closest shot but it’s always nice to see a Robin on snow!
Extreme low temperatures predicted from mid week so we might have to get used to staying put!
