PLEASE BE SEATED

Yesterday, I was seated at my computer editing race photos, as I usually do, when I felt my chair move a bit.  It had lowered a few inches....then a few inches more, then a few more inches and, pretty soon, I was sitting with my desk at eye level looking UP at my computer.

I've had this chair since before the Earth's crust had begun to cool.  The positioning piston had finally given up the ghost.  A quick drive to the furniture store ensued as I looked for a NEW replacement.....and this is it as it sits in my shop area waiting to be tried out. You can see the "remains" of the old chair on the floor to the right.

All was not smooth, however........they had only the floor model and the replacement would be delivered toward the end of the month.  I said to the salesman, "...and in the meantime I sit on the floor looking up at my computer?  I run my business off this machine."

Mr. salesman saw the boss and got permission for me to purchase the floor model.  Now all I had to do was rearrange a ton of stuff in the Subaru to see if the chair would fit.  I did and it did.  And I was lucky my neighbor saw me drive into his driveway and he appeared suddenly to help me get it down the basement stairs to my office in the Man Cave.  It's not that heavy...but it's kinda unwieldy.  Thanks neighbor.  Now all I have to do this morning is rearrange my equipment in the Subaru and get it back to normal.  I hope this new chair lives through the Trump administration.
