Chute…

Bozzels is full of these coal chute doors. Some have been lovingly restored and others are barely hingin' by a threed.

Earlier, Nancy and I nipped through to Melrose for our messages and then back in time for Joe the Roofer and his brother Harry the Roofer to meet us for a more thorough examination of the older tiles. There was much sucking-in through teeth, which is never a good sign.

It's bucket day tomorrow, so I'm about to brave the wild weather to put the wheely bin up the brae for emptying at 7am. Life is predictable and satisfying here.
