Did my usual walk along the promonade in Clacton first thing. My sister lives just a few minutes walk from the beach. It was very windy and it started to rain as I was walking back. I got drenched! Later on my sister took me to Walton-on-the-Naze to have a look at the beach huts and I spotted this statue of Herbert George Columbine VC, He was a private in the 9th Squadron, Machine Gun Corps, British Army during the First World War Squadron and was awarded the Victoria Cross for a deed he did in the war. More information here. Another in extras of some colourful beach huts.
