On it's own in the Duck Pond

Had to leave work a bit early today. While waiting for S to arrive with the car, I looked for a photo opportunity, and saw a small duckling paddling as fast as it could go on the larger of the two parts to the Duck Pond. Distracted by other events, I then lost sight of it. 

Later, I saw the duck which gives today's extra. There are a few features suggestive of Parera genes (e.g. the strong eye line and the narrow speculum are Parera characteristics, whereas the beak colour is more a Mallard feature.
