Ball, cake, digger

Jacob had his first accident this morning while I left him to play in a room on his own. I had sorted the washing into piles and left the lid of the wooden box open. After successfully putting all the washing back in the box Jacob shut the lid. On his finger. There was blood, there were tears, there were guilty feeling parents. I'm not sure who was more upset.
To cheer us up we had an impromptu trip to Song Circle. Jacob loved the guitar songs and any opportunity to clap. He also thoroughly enjoyed a chocolate biscuit and digger toy in the break.
The afternoon was spent baking then enjoying cakes while watching diggers out the back.
Although bruised and swollen Jacobs perfect tiny finger seems fine tonight. He has been showing it to everyone for kisses and sympathy which has obviously helped.
