Ice
On the pond. Gulls standing. Open water to the right.
Dry day, contrary to what was forecast, and nearly 3C by the time we went out in the afternoon. West wind with an edge in it from the snow on the hills to the north. Out by the Botanics; found fuzzy magnolia buds.
At the pond there was a merganser duck, two Canada geese, the swan pair, a few tufted ducks and the usual mallards as well as the black headed gulls standing on the ice. The Water of Leith is down about 30cm from when we saw it last.
