Independent Bird

A very handsome redwing rooting about in the leaves for food. It is pretty well camouflaged under the trees by the river.
I gave it this title as in one of my bird books, redwings are described as gregarious birds which feed in open fields. However, this one was on its own in some scrubby woodland!
