Two bright sparks…..

in a very black and white woodland this morning. It was bitterly cold with an icy wind from the north , snow falling and ice underneath the fresh snow over. Suddenly these two Bullfinches appeared, feeding on some very old berries and made up for the weather. The Buzzard was sitting in a tree at shoulder height, trying to be invisible and sheltering. Although it snowed all morning and the children were sent home at lunchtime the afternoon was bright and sunny and snow free! Some of the local kids took shovels and cleared driveways.
