Web
These sheet webs are very common around here, softly draped across blades of grass or branches. Sheet weaving spiders spin a few sneaky strands of silk above the web. An unsuspecting bug will fly into the strand and be knocked down into the web. While I was looking this up I came across an article that described how different psychoactive drugs, presumably ones that occur naturally in plants, administered to spiders caused their web design skills to deteriorate. Reading this, I can only think that anybody coming up with the idea of administering drugs to spiders must be on something himself! (themself?, theirself?)
Dana came over today to try and clear our dryer vent with her new toy tool. Our dryer is semi-built in and getting to the back of it where the vent attaches to the machine is not easy. She and John got it out, but the tool broke in the process of trying to clean and fell out under the house. someplace. While they were doing that and trying to figure out who to call to spare Dana crawling under the house, I was dealing with another problem.
I have a very short fuse when it comes to our insurance agent, so when I opened what I thought was our new insurance policy only to see it accompanied by a cancellation for non-payment of premium form, I lost it. Jim paid the premium via wire payment on Saturday per their instructions and all I could think was that now we have paid for two homeowners' insurance policies, both of which have been cancelled, neither of which has refunded our money.
After various attempts to read the piles of paper and the emails they sent, I finally calmed down enough to decide that the piles of paper were sent before the email which was, in fact, a PDF copy of the new policy. Jim is confirming this for me, since I no longer trust myself to read anything regarding insurance calmly. Is there such a thing as insurance PTSD?
I would rather be administering cannabis to spiders and photographing their webs....
