Even hotter
We went to the market this morning. When we got into the car, the thermometer read 45C. Of course it wasn't really that hot -- it was "only" 35C, with not a breath of wind. The market was absolutely heaving with people. We bought nothing except for half a dozen eggs and piles of fruit: cherries, apricots, strawberries, peaches. And then we had lunch at the only restaurant in town with a vine-shaded courtyard. Even there it was a bit too hot; the people at one table asked for a supplementary parasol.
I didn't take many photos, but I went for a short walk when it got cooler this evening. This is my one tree in its summer plumage. I have to say I like it better with bare branches!
