Botanical print

Continuing my memories in pictures. This is a botanical study, painted by Vickie Thomas, a world renown botanical artist. The plant is an endangered species called Orothamnus zheyeri or "Marsh rose " we used to visit at her studio in Betty's Bay, South Africa. Her husband Robbie concentrates on growing and protecting rare plants including the "Marsh rose" in his garden reminiscent of the native "fynbos " Vickie used to say the flower smelled of wet washing, which I agreed it did when smelling the gorgeous blooms in Robbies garden.
