Life in a Northern Town

A patch of blue

Sarah and I headed across the Pennines to avoid the skating rink pavements we have here. The journey back was beautiful - as we hit the snow line somewhere around Milnrow it was hard to believe the enormous contrast. We still have abandoned cars and closed schools, the snow persists in abundance and side roads remain impassable. There’s a slow thaw going on today but very low temperatures forecast for tonight.

I decided to take some food to the park ducks as they’re starving - I managed to survive being ambushed by hundreds of pigeons who are also starving - poor birds. Someone had cleared a path through the park so that’s the Blip for today.
