Scapa Flow - from the Porch
A far more benign day, so much so that I ventured into Toon for more dancing. It soon became obvious that I’d been ignoring my gavotte. Came home and dealt with my jury citation. (I am not sure whether ’20,000 Years in Sing Sing' is an obligatory watch beforehand). I then had a good call with the Heritage Officer employed by the Hoy Kirk; she is so very good at her job – a great appointment. We are invited across the Bay tonight for yet another jamboree and CMC is currently making a coffee cake. But, it’s not just any coffee Cake, no, it’s a CMC coffee cake. One or two Blippers that have had the misfortune to meet me, will know that I have never eaten cake anywhere, of any specification, unless CMC has made it. I am such a purist, with a highly educated cake palate. I hope you’ll all remember to look out for the special free gift in January’s edition of ‘Spurtle Monthly’. I hope you’ll all note that Morven (the highest point in Caithness) is directly behind the turbine on the top of Ore Brae in Hoy.
Michael Hurley is 83.
