Getting there

The house is looking nearly like new on the outside. Still looks like a weapons testing range on the inside.

We all had a rough night last night. It rained and, while the tent is perfectly dry, rain makes a lot of noise. This also freaked out the cat (who, after weeks of imagining we had abandoned him, rediscovered us and has been sleeping in the tent) who sat up, meowing loudly half the night.

So, the boy and I were pretty tired when we went to The Big Sheep (an actual local attraction) to play in the indoor playing area. I'm not a huge fan of The Big Sheep at the best of times - it's tired and tatty and naff - but the indoor playing area is large, safe and the boy loves it. Today, though, it was full to capacity and not just with the local kids but thuggish kids of thuggish parents who were down from far flung British cities on their holidays. (I'm being deliberately harsh, of course - I'm sure we have our fair share of juvenile thuggery locally.) It took a while for the boy to venture off to the slides and ball pits, but once he got going, he was quickly back in his element.
