Moma Stork
R's wonderful (grown up) children gave him a new piece of art for K's garden at Christmas. K continues to inspire 6 months after her death.
R is unsure where Moma Stork will be installed so he is trying various spots around the place for a few days at a time. I like her location near the hungry gull.
I spent the morning in their garden, doing the usual summer tasks of dead-heading, watering and weeding. There is more than enough to keep me busy.
Then this afternoon we had a quick trip to the vet. Again.
This time Bean almost ripped off one of her compromised nails/claws when she cornered mid-hurtle in the garden. There was blood everywhere and she was limping sadly.
Fortunately Katie the vet was relatively unconcerned and advised me to clean her paw in brine twice a day and to let her lick it clean the rest of the time if she wants to. She is confident it will fall off of its own accord in a few days' time and not cause any more problem - unless of course there is any more hurtling combined with cornering sharply to damage it further.
