Wednesday: Local Flavour

Thank you so much for your kind words yesterday.

K. and I drove up to Newcastle today so that we could spend a few days with family.  I’m very lucky in that we’re a very close family and we all agreed it would be good to be together for a few days.

The journey was fine and took about 5 1/2 hours.  Luckily, we had sandwiches and a flask to sustain us.  

We’re staying with my aunty and uncle in Fenham.  After a short turnaround time, we scooped up my other aunty and all headed to Cullercoats Social Club, always a favourite spot for family gatherings.  There we met up with other members of the family, particularly cousins and their partners.  It was very cathartic to get together.  

I love the local flavour of these posters.  The meat draw on a Sunday is always very popular.
