Newcastle Downunder

Nobbys on a grey day

We have had a lot more rain today.  I am glad as the gardens have needed it as we had quite a long dry spell over Christmas.  I see there is a bit of seaweed washed up on the beach and only a few people out swimming.  While the outside temp is mild, the sea temp would be very doable.

I have also discovered who the mural artist is from yesterday's blip.  Her name is Sophi Odling and the man in her mural is her former husband, Cameron Brooks.  She lives in Sydney.  It was part of the third annual Big Picture Festival last year.  An excerpt from insta says:  She stated: “When I saw this wall with the repeated windows, I saw it as a really good opportunity to play with a repeated figure." Odling said it explores her interest in how people are constantly changing and developing.  “The idea is that it evolves over each image.” she said. “Then it’s linked back through the wall. The idea is we evolve over time but we’re still linked to our path.”  Unfortunately mima she didn't explain the lights.
