Not a Dry eye in the house
On the 23 October Mrs Rex had her eyes tested at Specsavers in Kirkcaldy and two new pair of glasses were ordered. A week later she picked them up, tried them on and said her eyesight was worse with them on. She was assured she just needed to get used to them. After two months of trying to get used to them and not succeeding, she phoned to complain and arranged another eye test with them – fortunately not with the trainee she got in October – but with the more qualified Johnathan Dry. Turns out she was right. The prescription she was given in October was far too strong and she doesn't have astigmatism either. A new prescription has now been issued and the glasses left with Specsavers to fit the correct strength lenses. She doesn't expect to be charged for them and looks forward to eventually being able to wear them without feeling sick and bumping into things.
As they probably didn't say in ancient Rome; caveat emptor..!
