Little Egret - 5

We had a bit more snow at home this morning but I finally ventured out to do my volunteer shift at Burton. The main scrape was frozen over so there wasn't a great deal to look at from the visitors centre but there were good reports from the rest of the reserve with sightings like green woodpecker and golden plover although I didn't get to see them. However, this was my first birding day out of the year, so I saw several new birds to up my count a bit.

I don't normally like photos of birds flying away from the camera but I (accidentally) managed to capture this little egret in a good position flying over the frozen main scrape.
