Navigation Colliery

Early morning I met up with fellow blipper SilverImages  for a cooked breakast in Pontypool (South Wales, UK) before heading to Navigation Colliery in Crumlin for private access to the disused site.

It commenced as a coal mine in 1907 and shut in 1967. A lot of the old colliery sites have been demolished but this one remains and it is hoped can be restored or at least maintained.

Afterwards we drove to Bedwellty House in Tredegar and after a walk around the surrounding gardens enjohome via yed coffee as some sleet fell.

We took a long route home via Ebbw Vale where luckily the sleet didn't settle and the sunshine returned. A lovely day out in good company.

The photo' I like best from the day is of the inside of one of the buildings where they're currently keeping machinery and tools.

Lens used:   VM Voigtlander 35mm F2.5 P-type ii color skopar lens (manual focus)
