Tokyo

Phew!  After almost 15 hours of flight time from Boston, we finally landed in Japan in the early evening.  A very very long day, but we are so excited to finally arrive here and start the next travel adventure!

This is a view from the window of our beautiful room at the Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo.  And that's pretty much exactly how our tired eyes took in the city lights!

PS:  What with the International Date Line getting in the way between Boston and Tokyo, we lost a day somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Extra:  A collage to remember our flight by -- flying over the dense pack ice somewhere in the Bering Sea (probably not far from where we were in September!), an intriguing lunch menu provided to us on board the plane (not entirely sure what all was involved!), and the whacky route our pilot took during our descent to Narita Airport.  I surmise that perhaps he was looking forward to a nice linguine dinner once we managed to touch down?
