Spinnaker Tower - Portsmouth
Today was one of those days when we saw God's hand at work! We were going flying, but the clouds were low, the rain was falling, and the prospects didn't look good for any immediate improvement.
And then Mrs TPV had the bright idea of phoning some friends we have whom we were hoping to catch up with some time in the next few weeks. When they didn't answer their home phone we wondered if we had got it all wrong. But we tried again and then unusually tried their mobile number - they had gone out for breakfast as one of them had had a bad night and needed cheering up! We laughed and said we were phoning to invite ourselves down so we could take them out to lunch.
And that's just what we did - a great day of mutual encouragement, including lunch in a café overlooking the stretch of water between them and the Isle of Wight. We followed this with a short walk along the Gosport 'sea-front' from where I took this picture of the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. You can see from the sky, that although the rain had passed, the sky had not really cleared.
We followed that with more talking! Always good. And then a light tea of strawberries and cream followed a bit later by scrambled egg on toast! Scrumptious. Who says you have to eat your meals in the 'right' order?
A great day out, encouragement given and received, and some good food too - what could be better!
