Great day

A well loved and well respected former president was honored today with a day of mourning. All federal workers got the day off or an extra vacation day if they had to work. My day culminated in dinner with my friend Lisa. I saw a very well fed, large rat in the metro system but failed to get a picture. This is one of my little Japanese maples that I can never get a good shot of due to busy backgrounds but with the snow I think this shows off the structure.

Ukraine has gone on the attack inside Russia again, with success. “Ukrainian officials have listed a number of reasons for the counterinvasion, chief among them the occupation of tens of thousands of Russian servicemen who would otherwise be attacking Ukrainian soil.”

“Ukraine launched an overnight strike deep inside Russia that set fire to an oil depot that serves an air base for Russian nuclear bomber planes, the Ukrainian military said on Wednesday.”
