Vintage
Shot with a roughly 90 year old Zeiss Ikon Ikonta 520/18, also known as a Baby Ikonta by reason of its dinky size. It only has three shutter speeds, but has aperture control and distance focus, though either it’s very forgiving of getting that wrong, or none of them are really working properly.
Made from 1931 to 1937, it takes 127 film, which thankfully you can still get hold of through Analogue Wonderland, and I have to say (considering these are just ‘scans’ taken quickly with my phone over a lightbox) it’s a fun wee vintage hit.
I thought the bellows possibly had a hole with some flaring on the initial shots, but that disappeared on later shots, so I think it was just me fumbling with loading.
Bought at auction with a Rank Mamiya for the grand total (with fees) of £6.40. The Mamiya was sold spare or repair for £4.20, so the Baby Ikonta set me back three grand total of £2.20. Only worth around £15, Though that would be almost a 7x mark up, but going to keep it. Almost entirely because it’s cute and fun.
