The castle & our county town, Mindelheim, belonged to the Churchill family from 1705 to 1714.

I was in town to get my car's paperwork officially updated. EVs in general have low towing weight limits, seemingly set by the car manufacturers so as to not upset their overall fleet consumption figures. The factory fitted towbar on my BMW iX1 EV is identical to the one fitted to the ICE diesel & petrol versions of the X1. But, despite its higher weight, thanks to the battery, its phenomenal 313 HP, 500 Nm torque on Four-Wheel-Drive, far outclassing ICEs for towing, it has a limit of 1,200kg compared to 2,000kg of the ICE models.

I learnt though of a legal method to at least upgrade to 1,800kg. Send off pics, copies of paperwork & €500 to a business in Northern Germany & pronto by return mail get a MoT/TüV certificate for your individual car.

All that's left to do is have the change entered on the official registration papers. 5 minutes & less than €15.
