Mrs Blackcap....

The freezing temperatures are back, and a hard frost has been here all day! Stay warm out there people!!

I had to wander to the shops this morning to get more mealworms for the birds, and then had a little stop by the creek as a kingfisher had been spotted in the local park this week - of course, no sign of it for me! But I did get to see an oystercatcher, curlew, egrets and godwits braving the cold!

And then I did some back garden birdwatching from the shed again - nice to catch the female blackcap being very territorial everytime a blue tit appeared!  And foxy was about too and it was fascinating watching her trying to catch a mouse - at one point I could see the mouse hiding by the side of a pot, evading the sight of foxy!  Her hunting skills require a bit more work!
