The Fallen Blind Reinstated

My young neighbour kindly fixed my fallen blind but couldn’t fix my failed ceiling light in the hall.  Neither could the concierge  whom I cornered on his rounds. It seems to be a dodgy contact somewhere in the ceiling. I would bet that the architect who thought up the  great idea of marketing these widely used small sunken ceiling lights was a tall man with slim fingers . Any woman would have seen the problem of standing on a ladder to try and extricate and replace the bulbs.

We have had an another bitterly cold day, but at least it’s been sunny. In central Edinburgh we have not had any snow and this year the pavements have been incredibly well salted to combat any ice - this must be the only plus to living in the tourist and student quarter. It wouldn’t be good for the city’s reputation to have visitors slip sliding and ending up in a hospital corridor for hours while broken bones wait to be fixed.

In my pursuit of a 25% reduction on a cup of coffee at Costa, I walked down Chambers Street and managed to blip a man and his shadow walking up a sunny West College Street at the side of the Museum.
