Learner of the year 2013

Some good news at long last. Having overcome stage 4 non-hodgkins lymphoma after months of pain and intensive treatment, Tim (real name John!) resumed his studies, continuing his accountancy course.

Upon returning home from work, a familiar letter on the door mat and he expected another hospital appointment. Not this time, but an award from his College for his hard work this year. Who knew this award even existed?! but a welcome boost for him. Very proud of him. Of course he hasn't stopped talking about it since! That and his broken Spanish!

Tomorrow, one month without mum. She will be smiling for Tim today.
