The Snow is Coming …

… so eat as much as possible. This little Alpine Black Squirrel was very busy this morning, waving his/her winter tail. I was lucky to catch him/her sitting still for a moment, having a snack. Black squirrels are actually red squirrels which have adapted to the cooler environment of the Alps. Even in our village at only 600m, you only see this variety. 

Might have to have an early night, we’ve been out to a friend’s for a lovely long afternoon of raclette, sampling some delicious local wines with much chat and laughter. Now it is snowing quite hard.
