Fungi

Another fairly rare subject for me - fungi.
I actually saw and photographed a lovely lot of birds on this sunny afternoon. Nothing rare although I did finally manage to get a halfway decent picture of a goldcrest, it was a very pleasant outing, considering the temperature, which rocketed downwards after the sun went down.
However, the picture editor (Val) chose this shot of the fungi because of the rather splendid textures - so there you are :)) Fine by me.
