Life's Little Moments

Did someone say "walk"?

The winds have finally subsided and while it is still plenty cold, it was sunny and perfect for a short walk.  I took Jax to a big field nearby where he enjoyed sniffing (and peeing on) everything.  We came across what I am pretty sure was coyote scat which prompted a raising of hackles and a very thorough olfactory inspection.  Sniffing is an often overlooked activity for dogs, especially those with hunting breeds in their gene pool.  A half hour or so of sniffing wears him out far more than an equal amount of time just walking.  As for me, no hackles, no sniffing but I did enjoy being outside.

I've been working on my LR catalogs again today.  I want to get everything cleaned up before I head to TX next month - I need to have plenty of free space on the Mac.  And as usual, I don't find any of this intuitive.  Much muttering and some inventive language being used.

I touched base with the VP of Equine Events at the county fairgrounds today and we've agreed to catch up for an in person visit in March when the weather is friendlier.  She will walk me around the horse arenas and let me know where I can - and can't - be when I am taking photos.  Very excited to have a go at this as I think it will be a nice addition to the dog events that I enjoy so much.

More cold weather ahead but no snow in the forecast so I guess that's good.
