Little Elephant's Head

Pedicularis attollens. Info about this most peculiar wildflower is here, from my first blip of it last July. Though the wildflower crop is understated again this year due to low snowpack (and thus low water) this species is blooming in good numbers in Tuolumne Meadows. I was up there for the afternoon to see one of my favorite authors, Craig Childs, speak about his new book.
