Mulch

I should have gone out with our daughter today, but my throat has become considerably worse, so I stayed indoors doing some of my cross-stitch.
 
The gardeners came to today and cleared a small part of our Western boundary wall. They are mulching what they have cut down and today’s picture is of some of the mulch, which has been placed around four rose bushes in a small border. I have previously planted lavenders in this border, but they do not thrive; I hope these do better.
 
The temperature, at noon today, was once again only one degree Celsius.
