Yummy
We all had a late night as the young people wanted to watch Traitors. I wish they’d get rid of annoying Linda.
This meant they slept later today. I too had a good sleep - I took the advice and finally put on the winter duvet which I find a bit heavy but it’s certainly cosy.
We drove to Byker to drop them off for their Performing Arts School. I hopped on a bus into town from there while Mr C went to do a big food shop.
In town I went to Newcastle Jewellery Company which sells second hand stuff to look for a gift for #2 daughter’s 50th which is fast approaching - we’ll be away from 24th so I need to get organised. I couldn’t decide so went up the street to Fenwicks and found a linen top and trousers for me in the sale. A snip about 1/4 price of a good brand. But by the time I got to the trainer dept I was so hot I couldn’t bear to try anything so was relieved to get out into the cold air and back to the jewellery place (having consulted with #3 daughter) and negotiated a deal with the manager after producing ID.
While waiting for the metro to Byker to pick up Ella and Nathaniel I noticed a woman reading “Butter” so we had a chat. She likes the slow pace of Japanese writers. Then we chatted about travelling. It was a really nice wait for the metro!
Here you have Nathaniel and Ella ready to tackle the pavlova which turned out surprisingly well.
They have promised to give mahjong a go tonight.
