Frosty Nuts

……. hee hee

We keep finding empty monkey nut shells which our resident squirrel leaves all over the garden. He can’t bury them because the ground is frozen solid.

Today he came right up to the last fence panel beside the patio doors, he was there a good while, wasn’t phased as we took a few photos, but then George & Delboy spotted him & went berserk as he was so close to the door, at which point he bolted along the full length of the fence & disappeared over nextdoor’s :-/

C& I had a long wintery drive into Derbyshire for tonight’s gig, included a detour as the A617 Mansfield Rd is closed as the River Trent has burst its banks. Meant we were a bit later arriving.

C unloaded his gear into the lobby, moved the van, I popped to the shop opposite to get a coffee, then as we entered the Club, we were greeted by water pouring down from the ceiling!! A burst pipe in the loft….. lots of panic, people grabbing plastic buckets bins containers to catch the waterfalls …… the ceiling tiles, carpets & built in seating all soaked, water coming through light sockets….. became evident very quickly that they were going to have to close:-/ No water, no washing up behind the bar, no flushing loos, concern about their electrics etc etc

Van reloaded, we were on our way back by 8pm…… a nice little 3 hour round trip but at least c still got paid.

Stopped off to collect a chinese takeaway…. I had left a chicken chasseur in the slow cooker for when we got home, but it wasn’t going to be ready until half past midnight. Guess that’s tomorrow’s dinner taken care of …. will make some creamy mashed potato to go with it:-)
