Thawing Out
We took a walk along sections of disused railway lines and local canals finding areas where the ground has started to thaw after the last few days of sub zero temperatures. I had tried to take some photos of this swan coming out of the water and onto the ice in the canal, as it spread its wings as it was doing so, but unfortunately the autofocus let me down (or rather I didn't get it right). I just like the contrast between the swan's plumage and shadow behind caused by the bridge under the M6 Toll road.
Thank you for the response to yesterday's images. It really was a pleasure to be out there in those conditions.
