Slate Fell

Weekly Shopping trip to Cockermouth this morning was followed by Mike popping over for lunch and an afternoon visit, so outdoor photography was going to get squeezed in when possible. On the way home from Cockermouth I took the (icy) Embleton Road past Slate Fell, and shot this row of trees (not for the first time) with a snowy base, which was a first. I loved the almost indigo sky behind, contrasting so strongly against the white ground.
