Gentle Beauty

We had a fabulous day out at the Calanais Standing Stones and all over the north part of Lewis. We found amazing beaches with white, white sand, greeny-blue water and dramatic rock formations. None of my photos were anywhere as good as what Mother Nature put together.

There is beauty all around here. One is surrounded by it, in every direction, but never oppressed by it. It isn't showy. It's quiet, understated beauty that doesn't ask anything of the viewer. When you take the time to notice the little things like the sunlight reflected off the water, the rewards are great.
